The Association of VA Surgeons Foundation is pleased to announce the AVAS Foundation Early Career Faculty Research Award. This grant is available to members of the Association of VA Surgeons who are within 7 years following completion of their post-graduate training. Research proposals in clinical outcomes, health services research, education research, and basic science or translational research that emphasize minimally invasive innovations, patient safety, process improvement, medical education, technological innovation will be considered. 

The application deadline is Feb. 8th of the current academic year.

The award is $25,000 for one year.  

You must be an AVAS member to qualify.

Eligibility:

This is a mentored award. The primary mentor may be a VA surgeon or other senior investigator with which the PI has a research affiliation.Exception: Members of the AVAS Research Committee or Executive Council have an obvious conflict of interest and are ineligible to apply. These excluded members are still allowed to be included as supporters of other applicants from their institution.

The proposed research may be simultaneously submitted to other funding sources, however, only one source of funding for the proposed specific aims can be accepted.
